"My Mario"

This was a very quick sketch - less than 30 minutes. I wanted to see how pastel sat/worked/behaved on top of dark paper. I'd like to experiment with pastels and see if I can get the same details as I obtain with pencils. I think the hardest part will be keeping a point on the pastels.
My Mario is a great sport and a great subject. He is full of life and individuality AND he said it was okay to post this. What a guy!! On top of that he said he liked it too!! Have I said how lucky I am? So very lucky. :-)
