"Caught In The Act"

It seems no matter what a raccoon is doing it looks like it's been caught in the act of doing something it shouldn't be doing. Must be the mask. :-)

This is a miniature oil painting, 3" x 4.5". I've just lately begun painting and drawing miniatures and truly enjoy the process. I think "detail" has always been one of my favorite words. Miniatures have been around for centuries and I have learned that there is a big difference between a true miniature versus a small painting....it's all in the technique. So much to learn!
